TPN, Tirumala: On the first day of the Tirumala Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu presented silk clothes to Lord Venkateswara on behalf of the state government. The ceremonial offering took place on Friday night, with the silk clothes carried on a silver platter.
The Chief Minister, along with his family, began the visit by offering special prayers at the Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswamy temple. Following the prayers, the CM’s procession, accompanied by mangala instruments, proceeded to the Srivari temple. Upon arrival, Chandrababu Naidu and his family were warmly welcomed by TTD Executive Officer (EO) Shyamala Rao and Additional EO CH Venkaiah Chaudhary.
The CM and his family then paid their respects at the temple’s flagpole before offering prayers to Lord Venkateswara. They also visited several other sanctums, including Vakulamata, Vimana Venkateswara Swamy, Bhashyakarla Sannidhi, and Yoga Narasimha Swamy.
After the darshan, Vedic scholars chanted Vedic mantras and blessed the Chief Minister and his family in the Ranganayakula Mandapam. TTD EO Shyamala Rao later presented the Chief Minister with Srivari Theertha Prasadam.
The event was also attended by State Debt and Charities Minister Anam Rama Narayana Reddy, along with officials including State Debt Commissioner Satyanarayana, Tirupati District Collector Venkateshwar, and Tirupati SP Subbaraidu.
In light of the Chief Minister’s visit, tight security arrangements were made at Tirumala and along the route from Alipiri in Tirupati.
The offering of silk clothes by the state government is a time-honored tradition during the annual Brahmotsavam festivities at Tirumala.
