In a pointed address at the “It’s Good Government” program in Maddiralapadu, Prakasam district, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed strong condemnation of the YCP leadership regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the Tirumala Laddu. He claimed that during the previous government’s tenure, the sacred prasadam was adulterated using inferior ghee, which was being sold for a mere Rs. 320 per kg.
Chandrababu questioned, “Does anyone make an offering to God with adulterated ghee?” He asserted that the use of such low-quality ghee has tarnished the sanctity of Tirumala and deeply hurt the sentiments of devotees. The Chief Minister accused the YCP of negligence, suggesting that the government should have foreseen the implications of sourcing ghee at such a low price.
He criticized Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for his defense, stating, “If ghee is available for Rs. 320 per kg, doesn’t the government need to think ahead?” His remarks underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that the revered status of Tirumala Laddu has been compromised under YCP leadership.
Chandrababu’s comments reflect growing concerns among the public regarding the integrity of offerings at one of Hinduism’s most significant pilgrimage sites. As the debate intensifies, the demand for accountability in the management of Tirumala continues to rise.
