TPN , New Delhi — The BJP has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, accusing him of having a mindset akin to those who do not recognize Jammu and Kashmir as part of India. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari claimed that Gandhi’s statements reflect a divisive approach and resonate with the sentiments prevalent in Pakistan.
“Rahul Gandhi refers to individuals outside Jammu and Kashmir as outsiders, which suggests he views Kashmir as separate from India,” Bhandari stated, emphasizing that this perspective undermines national unity.
He further suggested that Gandhi’s fear of rejection by the people of Kashmir stems from their acceptance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development initiatives. Bhandari recounted Omar Abdullah’s advice for Gandhi to conduct rallies across J&K, rather than concentrating on a single location, arguing that Gandhi has failed to mount an effective campaign.
Turning his attention to the Delhi Chief Minister, Bhandari commented on Atishi’s allegiance to Arvind Kejriwal, suggesting that her political survival hinges on endorsing Kejriwal’s alleged corrupt practices. He criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for equating individuals implicated in corruption with revered figures like Lord Ram, calling the comparison “tragic and unfortunate.”
Addressing corruption allegations against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Bhandari claimed that the Karnataka High Court has implicated him in granting illicit benefits to his family, questioning Gandhi’s silence on this issue despite his frequent reference to the Constitution.
Bhandari asserted, “This indicates that the Congress party is embroiled in corruption, competing internally to outdo each other in malfeasance.”
In relation to law and order, he highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting victims in legal disputes, specifically referencing the Badlapur encounter. He criticized the opposition alliance, claiming they tend to side with criminals rather than victims.
The statements come as the BJP continues to frame the Congress party as embroiled in corruption while presenting the ruling government as a staunch defender of national integrity and law.
