Nara Lokesh Personally Oversees Arrangements for PM Modi’s Visit in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam, Jan 5 — Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s highly anticipated visit to Andhra Pradesh on January 8, Nara Lokesh, Minister for Education, IT, Electronics, and RTGS, took charge of overseeing the preparations in Visakhapatnam. Accompanied by Ministers Atchannaidu, Dola Bala Veeranjaneyaswamy, Kondapalli Srinivas, and senior party leader Kala Venkatrao, Lokesh personally ensured that the arrangements for the visit would be flawless
The team visited the Visakhapatnam Collectorate, where Lokesh held a crucial review meeting with senior officials and coalition representatives. The session focused on tightening security arrangements and ensuring a smooth and successful event for the Prime Minister's visit. Key representatives from the northern districts of Andhra Pradesh also participated in the meeting, highlighting the widespread significance of the visit.
A Unified Approach for Success
Nara Lokesh emphasized the need for a coordinated effort, calling for all stakeholders to work together in "mission mode" to make Modi’s visit a grand success. He stressed the historic nature of the visit, noting that it was the first such visit after the coalition government’s formation. "This is not just a visit for North Andhra; it is critical for the future of the entire Andhra Pradesh state," said Lokesh. He urged officials to ensure smooth coordination at every level, from booth-level monitoring to large-scale public participation, aiming to surpass the success of previous roadshows and rallies held in places like Vijayawada and Chilakaluripet.
Security and Logistics Review
One of the main concerns discussed during the review meeting was security. Nara Lokesh instructed senior police officials to ensure tight security while maintaining public convenience. He directed that single barricades be used for the roadshow to avoid unnecessary restrictions on the public. The route for the roadshow was also divided into sections, with specific responsibilities assigned to public representatives and officials to ensure smooth execution.
Ministers highlighted the need for proper crowd management and logistical arrangements, especially regarding parking facilities, food arrangements, and transportation for the expected large crowd. The ministers indicated that an estimated 300,000 people from North Andhra and East Godavari would attend the public rally at AU Engineering College grounds.
Inspection of Rally Grounds
Nara Lokesh and the ministerial team also conducted an on-site inspection of the AU Engineering College grounds, where the public rally is scheduled to take place. Lokesh provided specific instructions for officials, emphasizing the importance of providing necessary amenities for attendees. He reflected on past successful events in Vijayawada and Chilakaluripet, where Prime Minister Modi had lauded the quality of the roadshows and rallies. Lokesh set high expectations for the Visakhapatnam event to follow in the same footsteps.
Focus on Public Convenience
To ensure the event runs smoothly, the ministers instructed officials to arrange adequate parking, particularly for two-wheelers, and manage the distribution of entry passes efficiently. Lokesh underscored the importance of maintaining a smooth flow of the crowd and ensuring well-coordinated logistics, from parking facilities to the distribution of food and water.
A Historic Event for Andhra Pradesh
The Prime Minister's visit is considered vital for the future development of Andhra Pradesh, and the government is keen on making it a memorable occasion. Nara Lokesh concluded by reiterating the importance of active participation from all stakeholders to ensure the event’s success, stating that the government would spare no effort to guarantee the visit is a smooth, well-coordinated affair.
The event is expected to draw significant attention both from the people of Andhra Pradesh and across the nation, as it marks the first visit of PM Modi since the coalition government assumed power.
