Greenko Group's Election Bond Controversy: Allegations of Rs. 49 Crore Donation to BRS Party
In a shocking twist to the ongoing Formula E Race controversy, reports have surfaced claiming that the Greenko Group, the company behind the event, has made significant financial contributions to the ruling BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) party. According to sources aligned with the Congress party, Greenko Group allegedly facilitated a sum of Rs. 49 crore to the BRS through the purchase of election bonds.
The reports suggest that Greenko and its affiliated companies have provided funds to BRS in the form of election bonds a staggering 41 times. The company is said to have purchased these bonds starting from April 8, 2022, and continuing until October 10, 2022, with each purchase amounting to Rs. 1 crore. These bonds were reportedly purchased during the time the Formula E Race discussions were in progress.
The controversy surrounding Greenko Group’s involvement in the Formula E Race has now escalated with allegations of a scam, as the company’s financial transactions with BRS have come under scrutiny. Critics have raised concerns about the potential quid-pro-quo nature of the donations, especially as they coincided with the high-profile Formula E event that Greenko was instrumental in organizing.
This fresh twist has triggered intense political discussions, with Congress and opposition parties demanding an investigation into the matter. The Greenko Group and BRS party have yet to respond to these allegations, but the issue is now being widely debated in political and media circles.
