Anam Venkataraman Reddy Questions YS Jagan’s Faith in Controversial Remarks

TPN , Andhra Pradesh – In a recent political statement, TDP leader Anam Venkataraman Reddy made provocative remarks regarding the religious beliefs of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He claimed that the YS family converted to Christianity nearly a century ago and has been followers of Jesus Christ since 1925.

Addressing the media, Venkataraman Reddy pointed out that Jagan’s immediate family, including his mother Vijayamma, wife Bharathi, and sister Sharmila, are all Christians. He highlighted that Jagan’s wedding was conducted according to Christian traditions, further asserting that the memorial at YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s grave includes a cross, questioning Jagan’s religious identity. “If Jagan is not a Christian, he should remove the cross from his father’s memorial,” he stated.

Venkataraman Reddy accused Jagan of misleading the Christian community and referenced an affidavit in which Jagan identified himself as a Christian. He challenged Jagan to affirm his faith publicly by visiting Tirumala with his family to present offerings, emphasizing that true leaders should demonstrate their beliefs.

He also criticized Jagan for not signing the Tirumala Declaration, a practice followed by prominent leaders like Sonia Gandhi and former President Abdul Kalam, questioning if Jagan considers himself superior to them.

The TDP leader did not stop there, turning his ire towards TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy and Sudhakar Reddy, questioning their integrity and referencing past controversies, including the handling of the pink diamond case.

Venkataraman Reddy’s comments have ignited discussions about the intersection of faith and politics in Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the ongoing tensions between political parties in the state.
