Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Sunday that Agniveers, who are part of the Indian Army’s recruitment scheme, will be guaranteed pensionable jobs. Speaking at a ‘Jan Aashirwaad Rally’ in Dhorka Sector-95, Gurgaon, in support of BJP candidate Rao Narbir Singh, Shah encouraged parents not to hesitate in sending their sons to join the Army.
“The Agniveer scheme was introduced to rejuvenate the Army,” Shah stated, asserting that every Agniveer would receive pension benefits. He dismissed claims by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “lying machine” for suggesting the government aimed to avoid providing pensionable positions.
Shah further criticized the Congress party, claiming that during its tenure in Haryana, the government was marred by corruption and favoritism. He stated, “Under Congress, only one district and one caste were developed. In contrast, the BJP has worked for the equal development of the entire state.”
The Home Minister highlighted that the Modi government had allocated ₹2.92 lakh crores for Haryana’s development over the past decade, in stark contrast to the ₹41,000 crores provided by the UPA government. He emphasized PM Modi’s commitment to the state, saying, “PM Modi loves Haryana the most among all states.”
Addressing the Congress’s performance in other states, Shah claimed they had failed to fulfill their promises in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. He accused Congress of appeasement politics, especially regarding Kashmir, asserting, “As long as the Modi government is in power, only the Tricolor will fly in Kashmir.”
Shah also pledged that the Waqf Board Bill would be addressed in the upcoming winter session of Parliament and criticized local Congress candidates for making promises of job distributions favoring their supporters, questioning how this would benefit the common citizen.
With a strong call for unity and development, Shah reiterated the BJP’s achievements in job creation, stating that the party had provided five lakh jobs without resorting to favoritism.
