Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations at Vijayawada’s Indrakeeladri are continuing with religious fervour. On the auspicious Moola Nakshatram day, devotees from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are arriving in large numbers to worship Goddess Kanaka Durga.On Friday, October 16, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his wife will offer silk clothes to the goddess on behalf of the state government at 4 PM. Temple authorities have completed security and crowd-management arrangements.To ensure convenient darshan for ordinary devotees, free darshan will be available through all queues. Antaralaya darshan, protocol, VIP and recommendation-based darshan facilities have been cancelled for the day.Devotees will have darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga, decorated as Goddess Saraswati, from the Mukhamandapam. Private vehicles are prohibited on the hill to prevent traffic congestion. All vehicle passes, including previously issued service passes, have been temporarily suspended. Only emergency official vehicles will be permitted.
